Privacy Policy

Rally Raise is a donation platform operated by Fresh Food Connect. This policy explains what we collect when you use rallyraise.org or any org page we host, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Your name, email, and billing ZIP when you make a donation.
• Payment information, which is handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Your IP address and the page that referred you, so we can prevent fraud and attribute donations to the right share link.
• The Share & Earn code in the link you used, if any, so the thank-you share reaches the right person.
• Basic device info your browser sends (browser type, language) and the date and time of your visit.

What we don't collect

• Precise location (we do not use GPS).
• Your contacts list or address book.
• Your social graph or friends list.
• Health, dietary, or demographic profiles beyond the ZIP you enter.

How we use your information

• Process your donation through Stripe.
• Email you a receipt for your records and tax purposes.
• Share your name, email, and donation amount with the receiving org so they can thank you directly. You can choose to donate anonymously — in that case we share only the amount.
• Credit a Share & Earn link back to the person who shared it.
• Publish aggregate, non-identifying stats (total pantries on the platform, total dollars moved, meals shared).

Who we share with

• Stripe — our payment processor. Stripe handles your card data under its own privacy policy.
• The receiving org — your name, email, and the amount of your gift, unless you chose to donate anonymously.
• The IRS — as required by law, including donation records that support deduction receipts and 1099 reporting for Share & Earn participants above the legal threshold.
• No one else. We don't sell your data. We don't rent lists. We don't share with advertisers.

Cookies

We use two first-party cookies and no third-party trackers.

• Session cookie — set only for org admins who sign in to manage a page. Expires when you close your browser or sign out.
• Attribution cookie (ffc_ref) — 30-day expiry. Records the Share & Earn code from a link you clicked so the right sharer gets credit if you donate.

You can disable cookies in your browser. Donations will still work; Share & Earn attribution may not.

Your rights

We honor access, deletion, and correction requests consistent with CCPA, CPRA, and comparable state privacy laws. Email [email protected] from the address on file and we will respond within 30 days.

One exception: the IRS requires us to retain donation records for 7 years. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete everything we can, but tax records tied to your donations stay in place for that period.

Children

Rally Raise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will post changes here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be emailed to active org admins.
